As the APAC lead agency for Global Health Marketing and Communications (GHMC), a global network of independent healthcare agencies, we are committed to expanding our network in the region and connecting with like-minded communications agencies that put health and science at the forefront of their services. We are delighted to welcome Elite PR as our exclusive partner in Taiwan.
Elite PR brings over 35 years of expertise in Taiwan’s healthcare sector and offers a wealth of knowledge in public relations, branding, innovation, and policy communication.
We had a conversation with Jason Chang, General Manager of Elite PR Group, to learn more about their business and the Taiwanese healthcare landscape.
1. Firstly, welcome to GHMC, Elite PR! We’re delighted to have you in the network. For those who aren’t yet familiar with Elite PR, can you tell us a bit about what makes you stand out from other healthcare communications agencies in Taiwan?
I believe the most crucial foundation in medical communication lies in professionalism. At Elite PR, we are thoroughly trained to accurately interpret client needs and develop effective strategies. What sets us apart from other PR firms is our creativity. We use diverse methods and communication channels to ensure our target audience quickly understands our health education messages and takes corresponding actions. Our healthcare team’s creativity often helps us stand out from the competition and deliver impactful, memorable results for our clients.
2. What attracted Elite PR to join the GHMC network, what opportunities and benefits do you see for your clients?
Joining GHMC is all about embracing new opportunities for international collaboration in medical communications. While we’ve historically focused on serving both local and international clients within Taiwan, the effects of globalisation have shown us the importance of blending local insights with a global perspective. We believe that being part of GHMC will expand our horizons and benefit our clients immensely. Local Taiwanese companies will have greater chances to make their mark on the global stage by connecting with top medical communications teams worldwide. For our international clients, our broadened global experience will enhance our competitive edge and add value to our project strategies.
Moreover, we’re eager to learn from the strengths of healthcare systems in Western countries, using these insights to help improve Taiwan’s own healthcare system. Joining GHMC isn’t just a step forward for Elite PR—it’s a step forward for our clients and the healthcare landscape in Taiwan.
3. With over 35 years in the industry and multiple awards under your belt, how do you hope Elite PR will boost GHMC’s offerings in the Asia-Pacific region?
By joining GHMC, Elite PR is excited to share Taiwan’s health communication expertise with the world. In Taiwan, strict regulations mean we have to be creative and strategic in conveying treatment messages accurately. Over the years, we’ve honed our skills and trained our team to tackle a wide range of challenges. Taiwan’s robust healthcare system offers valuable lessons for other markets, and we’re eager to integrate our environmental and industry insights with our past experiences, to showcase our health communication capabilities on a global stage and make a meaningful impact.
4. Navigating the strict regulatory limitations on medical product promotion in Taiwan can be challenging. Can you share some creative strategies or approaches that have worked well for you?
Effective communication is all about connecting with your audience. In Taiwan’s strict regulatory environment, we need to go beyond just promoting pharmaceutical products and think creatively about how to truly engage the public. To make a real impact, it’s essential to understand the cultural nuances. People in Taiwan have diverse habits, cultures, and interests. By tapping into these insights, we can craft communication strategies that resonate on a deeper level, creating meaningful connections and achieving successful outcomes.
5. In a dynamic healthcare landscape, what emerging trends or challenges do you see in Taiwan/APAC that Elite PR is gearing up to address?
In Taiwan, our healthcare system is embracing more technological advancements. For example, the new telemedicine law allows doctors to offer remote consultations, which is a huge step forward. This tech integration means our communication methods can become even more diverse. We’re especially excited to explore how these new advancements and platforms could be used to share important messages in the future.
6. Finally, anything our network clients should know about Elite PR or healthcare communication in Taiwan?
Even though it’s our healthcare division that joined GHMC, Elite PR is a highly integrated PR group. We work across various sectors like consumer goods, finance, technology, and corporate reputation. We also welcome global clients who need support in Taiwan for any of these areas.
