Spurwing Communications Continues to Expand Senior Healthcare Team

Medical Communications expert Anita Abeygoonesekera joins Spurwing Communications’ growing team of healthcare communication specialists

Spurwing Communications, a multiple award-winning leader in strategic healthcare communications in Asia Pacific, has appointed Anita Abeygoonesekera as Account Director to further expand and deepen the industry-leading sector expertise it provides to its healthcare clients.

Anita is a trained pharmacist, with frontline experience in primary health in New Zealand, and a seasoned medical communications practitioner, joining from Nucleus Global, the world’s largest medical communications company. She’s worked in markets across Asia Pacific, including mainland China, to deliver projects for clients such as AstraZeneca and Boehringer Ingelheim, bringing first-hand knowledge from some of the fastest growing healthcare markets in the world. Her expertise lies in patient, community and HCP outreach, medical education, stakeholder management, and developing multi-market communications strategies. Beyond her pharmacy training, she is well-versed in multiple therapeutic areas, particularly cardiology and oncology.

Anita will play a key role in collaboration with Spurwing’s Dennis Wong in delivering Spurwing’s medical communications services that cater to its clients’ growing needs in the Asia Pacific market.  The agency’s portfolio of healthcare clients includes pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, medical and health technology, biotechnology, patient advocacy and nutrition companies.
